KC STEM Goes Red with the NBRC

This past December, members of our executive office staff along with local respiratory therapist volunteers had the pleasure of participating in the American Heart Association’s KC STEM Goes Red event. As an organization, the NBRC loves to give back in a multitude of ways and sponsoring this event in our hometown was a true pleasure.

Hosted at the Education Center at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri, this event was attended by over 100 high school girls from the Kansas City area and brought careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields to the attention of the attendees. During the breakout sessions, our team was able to speak about the importance of respiratory care, showcase it as a valuable career and give hands-on demonstrations to engage participants.

Along with hosting a breakout session, our group also had the opportunity to participate in mentoring sessions with the attendees to offer practical insights and answer any questions they had about stepping into the professional world.

We enjoy getting to be a part of these give-back initiatives and promoting the respiratory care profession!
