Welcome Sara Hanif Mirza, MD-MS, to the NBRC Board of Trustees
We’re delighted to welcome Sara Hanif Mirza, MD-MS, to the NBRC Board of Trustees for a term beginning January 1, 2022. Dr. Mirza specializes in Pulmonary and Critical Care and is an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center. She’s also the Medical Director of Medicine at the Department of Respiratory Care Services at Rush University Medical Center and for the respiratory care program at Malcolm X College.
Dr. Mirza is a member of the American Association for Respiratory Care, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.

- Attending of the Year, Internal Medicine, Rush University Medical Center
- Fellow of the Year, Internal Medicine, Rush University Medical Center
Dr. Mirza describes herself as levelheaded, passionate and honest. Her motivation comes from educating and helping others in respiratory care. “The euphoria that I feel in being a part of someone’s learning journey is deeply satisfying.”
When Dr. Mirza isn’t working, she’s spending time with her three daughters and cat, Princess Leia. She enjoys gardening, experimenting with cooking and tasting different cuisines.
Dr. Mirza brings a great deal of experience and wisdom to our board. We’re thrilled to work alongside her.
