The NBRC Gives Back in 2021

Colorful Community Symbol

We pride ourselves on promoting excellence in respiratory care using high competency standards. We also take great pride in being able to help those in need around us. At the NBRC, our social purpose is centered on caring, joining and giving.

Every year, we make sure to take the time to give back to our community. As a staff, we truly enjoy collecting items and donating funds to those in need of assistance in the greater Kansas City area, as well as nationally supporting organizations related to respiratory care. The NBRC also makes a donation on behalf of each staff member to the charitable organization of their choice. Here’s a look at how we gave back in 2021.

  • Happy Kits for Children’s Mercy
  • Choose One Campaign Benefiting National Sleep Foundation, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation and the COPD Foundation
  • Olathe Mayor’s Children’s Fund Donation – Olathe, KS
  • The Coalition for Baccalaureate and Graduate Respiratory Therapy Education Donation to Support Two Doctoral Scholarships
  • A Donation to Johnson County Community College Towards a Respiratory Care Scholarship
  • Giving Tuesday (ATS COVID-19 Crisis Fund, ARCF General Fund and the CHEST Foundation)
  • School Supply Drive for New Stanley Elementary School – Kansas City, KS
  • American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb
  • Clothing Drive for Uplift – Kansas City, MO
  • Donations to Charities on Behalf of Each Staff Member (Big Brother Big Sisters, Sunflower House, Wounded Warrior Project, K9s For Warriors, Dementia Society of America, Uplift, Literacy KC, City Union Mission, Kansas City Hospice, 1/99 Reintegration Program, Worthy Beyond Purpose, Mind Drive, Synergy Services, The Grooming Project, The Mission Project)

This year, we’re excited about our 2022 Choose to Give Campaign. Through this give-back initiative, a portion of our practitioners’ annual fees will help fund scholarships, grants and awards for current and future respiratory therapists. This campaign is a simple way for the entire respiratory care community to band together in ways that elevate the profession, address the rising shortage of respiratory therapists, and ultimately improve care for the growing number of patients who need respiratory therapy.

We look forward to raising funds nationwide for our RTs and another year of giving in our local community!
